A Lot in a Little Time.

A lot has happened since my last post.  I mean A LOT.  I previously wrote about Josh and Katie's journey with their baby.  On June 25th, we got a text that Katie had gone into labor.  We dropped Adia off at the neighbors (where my mom picked her up a couple hours later) and we left.  We were determined to be there for the birth of this precious baby!  That evening, Katie's labor wasn't progressing, so we went home and then got another text the next morning saying she would for sure have the baby that day.  So, we went back and Katie had little Evangeline at 5:30 PM on June 26th.  It was very sad, knowing that we'd have to say goodbye to this little baby on her birthday, but it was one of the most beautiful events I have ever been a part of.  Katie was perfect.  She is an incredible mom.  Josh was the wonderful and loving daddy and husband that you would expect.  The family worshipped, cried, laughed, and soaked up every moment.  And as for Evangeline...  she was the star of the show and a beautiful little doll. Her skin was so soft, her tiny little hands were so sweet and so perfect, and she looked just like her mommy.  The graveside service was sad, but oh so sweet.  Josh and Katie were both able to speak at the service, a message was shared, and we worshipped.  Katie goes into much further detail on her blog, which you can read at http://katietwohearts.blogspot.com/.  You can also go to this link to watch an incredible slideshow from the birth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rr5Kjo5__VQ&feature=player_embedded#at=39  Just make sure you have some tissues handy.  :)

The picture below is one of my favorites of the sweet little family.  :)

On July 2-9, we took Adia to the beach with us for the first time.  We had a great time!  I uploaded pics to my facebook if you want to take a look.  I can't believe how big my baby is getting.  She's 7 months old.  Wow.  Where does time go?  She is my favorite little thing.  She loves the consonant sounds "buh" and "muh."  She also loves to squeel and laugh a lot these days.  She hugs me when I hold her and I love that.  I don't think it will be long before she starts crawling.  When she's on her belly, she can scoot around but usually moves backwards.  She's not crawling though yet, which honestly, I'm ok with.  I know life will get hectic when she starts moving all over the place!  I love to kiss her fat cheeks and I love to squish her chubby thighs.  Adia was not a big fan of the ocean, but she was fine with the actual beach.  I love this age.  She has discovered her love for dance.  She sits on her bottom and just bounces up and down when music is playing.  She especially likes Joe Walsh's Funk 49.  My dad appreciates that.  :)  Until next time, you can go to this site and watch Adia doing the John Wall.  It's pretty amazing.  :)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4arvdYj7_w
