The end of the beginning...

Hello, again! I just completed my first 12 weeks of pregnancy, meaning I am finishing up my first trimester this week. All of this has just been very exciting and exhausting for me. So, the sweet little babe is about the size of a large peach now... about 3 inches long from the top of the head, (which is growing hair this week), to the booty. Up until now, the baby's intestines have been growing in a cavity inside the umbilical cord, but now they are moving into the baby's abdomen. My favorite developmental leap this week is the baby's vocal chords. Even though we can't hear the baby until it is born, the baby is now able to use it's vocal chords to make sounds. Let's hope this baby inherits those Wilcox pipes!
I am feeling much much much better! I am not nearly as nauseous as what I was before and the indigestion has improved so much. I am getting my appetite back as well. I've still been really tired, but it's nice to have a great excuse to relax. I may be feeling much better, but I don't look so cute anymore... my belly is growing and it is starting to itch a lot. I'm already doing the rubber band trick on my jeans and I am wearing lots of maxi dresses. Someone asked me yesterday if I was sure that I don't have twins in my belly. She couldn't believe how fast it is popping out there. Micah and I are putting one of those big inflatable pools in our fenced in backyard. I got a 2 piece to wear in my own private sunbathing time. I told my sister in law that I look like a pregnant earthworm in it. Not so cute. Oh well. I will pull out the one piece here in a couple of weeks when I go to the beach. Until next time, here are some pics of me and my growing belly.
We took these pictures before our anniversary dinner. In the one above, I am just standing up straight.
It looks really big when I hold my belly! Yikes! If I am like this at 3 months, I better watch out come August!
